Breast cancer group offers support

Can you feel the spring in your step? Can you see the luscious green beginning to unfold around us?
Can you smell the blooms and fresh cut grass? What a glorious time of the year as we emerge from a harsh winter, perhaps helping us have an even better appreciation for this time of year.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this season than being among a group of strong women dressed in their Easter finest who are not only celebrating the signs of Spring, but something much bigger — life.
When I joined Natchez Regional Medical Center last year as the nurse manager of The Women’s Center, I was honored and privileged to continue with the Breast Cancer Support Group hosted at 5:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every month at the hospital.
On Thursday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Cypress classroom at Natchez Regional, I would like to invite breast cancer survivors to join us as we celebrate the season.
If you like, please wear your Easter finest as we enjoy wonderful conversation while we indulge in tea and crumpets and other tasty delights.
For those in our group who have remained faithful through the years, your personal experiences, tips and information have brought comfort and peace to those in attendance.
The bonds you have formed among each other have been inspirational to all. If you are a breast cancer survivor and have never attended one of our meetings, we would love to have you join us on Thursday.
You will not find a more caring, supportive group that will present information, provide comfort, teach coping skills, help reduce your anxiety and provide a place for you to share common concerns and emotional support.
Our meetings are always open to those who are breast cancer survivors and/or caregivers. For more information, please contact 601-443-2657.
