NEW ORLEANS — Services for Catherine Woodside Hayes, 76, of New Orleans, formerly of Vidalia, who died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Little Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Hardy officiating.

Private burial will follow under the direction of Davis Mortuary Service.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Hayes was born May 24, 1937, the daughter of Junius Sr. and Maudella Woodside.

She was a retired dietician for Total Community Action, Inc.

Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernelll Hayes Sr.; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Vernelll Hayes Jr. of Dallas, Jerome Hayes of Houston, Furnell Hayes and wife, Danielle, of New Orleans and Tyrone Hayes of Montgomery; four daughters, Brenda Hayes Haywood of New Orleans, Jacqueline Hayes of Dallas, Ga., Hope Gant and husband, Cardenas, of Atlanta and Alice Hayes of New Orleans; four brothers; three sisters; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law and other relatives and friends.
