FERRIDAY — A 57-year-old Ferriday woman was released from jail this week after Ferriday Police Department officers arrested her Saturday for attempted second-degree murder.
Thelma Taylor, 57, 100 Kyle Road No. 0-77, was arrested after FPD officers responded to a call of shots fired Saturday in the area of Concordia Apartments at approximately 5 p.m., Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison said.
Through the officers’ investigation and witness testimony, Madison said Taylor fired five rounds from her house at a man in the street.
“(Taylor’s) testimony was that the man kept putting something on her car, which she later told us was crack cocaine,” Madison said. “We were unable to determine if that was the case, but the matter is still under investigation.”
Madison said none of the rounds Taylor fired hit the man, which led to Taylor being charged with attempted second-degree murder. Taylor was released Tuesday on a $25,000 bond.
