NATCHEZ — An Adams County man was charged Saturday for reportedly stabbing another man over a card game at a cookout on Eastmoor Drive.

Danny Ray Burks, 43, 104 Wynola Drive, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after reportedly stabbing the cousin of a friend with whom he came to the cookout, Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said.

The victim and Burks reportedly had an argument about a card game that escalated and led to Burks allegedly stabbing the victim.

Mayfield said the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Burks was being held with no bond Saturday night in the Adams County Jail.
