Vidalia — A Vidalia father and son were arrested Thursday after Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies seized $4,200 in cash and 1.5 ounces of marijuana while serving a bench warrant.
CPSO spokesman Vernon Stevens said deputies arrived at an Azalea Street house to serve a bench warrant for Robert D. Willis for a probation and parole violation.
Stevens said the deputies also received information from other local law enforcement agencies that drugs were being sold at the house.
Robert D. Willis, 51, consented to a search and admitted to having marijuana in the house when deputies arrived at the house.
The deputies found 1.5 ounces of hydroponic marijuana in a small safe in the house with a street value of more than $500, Stevens said.
The deputies also seized $4,200 in cash, a Remington .22 rifle and several prescription pills.
Robert D. Willis, 1653 Azalea St., Vidalia, was arrested and booked on charges of possession of schedule I with intent to distribute, carrying of weapons while in possession of CDS and improper supervision of a minor child.
Henry A. Willis, 26, — who was at the Azalea Street house during the search — was arrested and booked on charges of possession of schedule III with intent to distribute (three counts) and possession of schedule IV with intent to distribute.
Stevens said children were at the house when the search was conducted, which led to Robert Willis’ charge of improper supervision.
No bond had been set for either Vidalia resident as of Friday evening.
