NATCHEZ — A family member of a 20-year-old Natchez resident who remains in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision Sunday created a fundraising page to help cover medical and other expenses.

Nikki Worthey was traveling with Tyler Brumfield Sunday evening on U.S. 61 South when their car collided with another at the intersection of Kingston Road.

Brumfield died in the wreck, and Worthey was airlifted with severe injuries to an Alexandria hospital where she remained Thursday.

Steve Hicks, who is Worthey’s uncle, created a fundraising page on gofundme.com, a popular crowdfunding site used to raise money for personal donation campaigns or charity fundraising campaigns.

The site managed to raise more than $1,300 in its first day of operation, and Hicks said he hopes residents continue to donate anything they can to help cover hotel and hospital costs for Worthey’s family.
