Ferriday — Three Winnsboro residents were arrested Monday on charges of dogfighting after Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found them fighting dogs in an abandoned Ferriday house.

Deputies responded to a call Monday afternoon of dogfighting at 315 Townsend Lane in Ferriday and saw four individuals outside the house, CPSO spokesman Vernon Stevens said.

When deputies approached the house, the individuals ran, and the deputies were able to catch three of them.

All three men remained in Concordia Parish jail Monday without bail.

Stevens said further arrests are pending as deputies work to locate the fourth suspect.
