Vidalia — A Vidalia man was arrested Monday after allegedly slamming the door on a Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Robert C. Johnson, 29, 578 Airport Road, Vidalia, was arrested and booked on charges of battery of a police officer, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by fighting.
CPSO spokesman Vernon Stevens said deputies responded to Airport Road Monday to a call of a fight in progress and found Johnson and another man outside when they arrived.
Johnson was allegedly arguing with the deputies and ran toward his house as the CPSO deputies began interviewing the other man.
“The deputies followed him to his house and (Johnson) slammed the door on one of the deputy’s arms,” Stevens said. “They eventually subdued him and arrested him.”
Johnson remained in Concordia Parish jail Tuesday evening with no bond set.
