VIDALIA — Traffic was backed up past the intersection of John R. Junkin Drive and Canal Street this morning for nearly an hour because of a two-vehicle collision.
Traffic was moving freely at 9:50 a.m.
Vidalia Police Chief Arthur Lewis said the collision was likely weather related, but no serious injuries were reported.
At 9:40 a.m., traffic was moving slowly on the westbound bridge with motorists backed up nearly a mile.
Lewis said the wreck was the second one officers worked this morning. He urged motorists to drive carefully and be aware of the conditions of the roadways caused by the winter weather.
