Adams County Justice Court Cases

Week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6:

Darryl L. Hill charged with two counts of simple assault. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Joseph Hoke charged with two counts of statutory rape. Case bound over to a grand jury. Hoke was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Jason Cox pleaded guilty to willful trespassing.

Thomas Thompson pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Kareem Baldwin pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. Baldwin also pleaded guilty to failure to yield. Baldwin also pleaded guilty to driving while license suspended. Baldwin also pleaded guilty to reckless driving.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Monday, Feb. 3:

Michael Wofford, who was convicted of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections suspended place on post release supervision for five years on April 20, 2010, has his post release supervision terminated in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court after conforming to the conditions of his post release supervision, conducting himself in a law abiding manner, and paying all court costs and fees.

Destiny Sullivan, who pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting and was ordered to enroll and successfully complete the Sixth Judicial Adult Drug Court Program on Aug. 21, 2012, has violated the rules and regulations of the drug court program by testing positive for cocaine. Sullivan is ordered in Sanders’ court into the Intensive Long Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program under the supervision of MDOC.

Thursday, Jan. 23:

Devonta D. Perry pleaded guilty to simple robbery (Count I) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC suspended and placed on four years formal probation under the supervision of MDOC. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 90 days from this day (Tuesday, Jan. 21) in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.

Tuesday, Jan. 21:

Kerry Hutson, who was convicted of burglary of a storehouse and sentenced to five years in MDOC suspended and placed on post release supervision for five years on Nov. 1, 2010, has his post release supervision terminated in Judge Forest “Al” Johnson’s court after conforming to the conditions of the post release supervision and conducting himself in a law abiding manner.

Tuesday, Jan. 14:

Justin Lamark McGuire pleaded guilty to armed robbery (Count I) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC. Must pay all court costs and fees and a prosecution fee of $200 and restitution of $400 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk before release from the custody of MDOC. If all court costs, prosecution fee of $200 and restitution of $400 are not paid in full before release from custody of MDOC, the Commissioner of MDOC shall without further order from this court transport and place the defendant in the custody of the Mississippi Restitution Center until all court costs, prosecution fee of $200 and restitution of $400 are paid in full. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.

Kenita D. Harris pleaded guilty to shoplifting — 2 counts in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC on Count 1 and sentenced to five years in MDOC on Count 2, said sentences shall run concurrently; and shall run consecutively with sentence now serving in Pike County Circuit Court cause numbered 13-251-PKT. Further ordered that upon recommendation of the District Attorney of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court District for the State of Mississippi, cause numbered 13KR0064B-S and cause numbered 13KR0105C-S are dismissed.

Jhakeel Quantez Hawkins pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen firearm in Sanders’ court. The court withholds acceptance of the defendant’s plea and enters an Order of Non-Adjudication of Guilt and imposition of sentence, provided successful completion of the conditions imposed in this order. Must pay all court costs and a $200 prosecution fee in the Office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk within 30 days from this day. All unindicted pending charges are dismissed.
