Two area residents join UMB board of directors

NATCHEZ — United Mississippi Bank President Samuel P. Porter recently announced new additions to the bank board.
Vidal Davis and Joseph “Jody” Edward Herring have been appointed as a members of the board.
Davis is a graduate of Trinity High School and received his bachelor’s in business management from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Davis has been an active real estate broker since 1982, specializing in investment grade real estate. He serves as president of Good Hope Inc., a land and timber management company.
He was named 2004 Land Realtor of the year by the Realtors Land Institute. He has past served as president of the Natchez Board of Realtors, president of the Realtor Land Institute and Board of Directors of Nature Conservancy of Mississippi along with having been elected to three terms on the Natchez Board of Alderman.
He is married to the former Tanna Adams and they are active in First Presbyterian Church.
Herring is a graduate of Franklin High School and received his bachelor’s in business administration from Belhaven College.
Herring serves as president of Herring Gas Co.
He is a past president of Mississippi Propane Gas Association and Louisiana Propane Gas Association. He is a member of Ben Franklin Lodge No. 11 in Meadville.
He is married to the former Tiffany Burris, and they are the parents of five children. They attend Meadville United Methodist Church.
