Yard sale, pancakes benefit firefighters

The Kingston Volunteer Firemen and Auxiliary members will be setting aside their ladders and fire hoses and picking up spatulas on Saturday as they host a fund-raising Pancake Breakfast and Community Yard Sale.
Neighborhood fire stations are an important part of our community. Events such as this are an opportunity to meet the firefighters who serve our neighborhood and to learn some important safety information.
Delicious pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee will be served for $5 from 7 until 11 a.m. Delicious baked goodies will also be available.
The community yard sale starts at 7 a.m. and ends at noon. There will be lots of treasures for you to check out.
If you have any items you would like to donate for the yard sale, or if you would like to rent a yard sale space, contact Carol McIlwain at 601-442-2253.
The fee is $10 per space, and only a few spaces are left, so hurry!
In addition to the breakfast and yard sale, there will be information on fire prevention, and fire trucks will be on display.
Firemen and auxiliary members will be on hand to answer questions, and applications will be available for anyone interested in joining the fire department or auxiliary.
So, we hope you will join us. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast, visit with friends and possibly even find some treasures. We appreciate your support of the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department and hope to see you on Saturday.
All proceeds from the event will go into the auxiliary fund to provide needed supplies and equipment for the fire department.
Cheryl Freeman is Kingston Fire Department Auxiliary president.
