NATCHEZ — A number of local athletes and two local coaches were selected to participate in the MAIS All-Star game next week.
Adams County Christian School’s Brandon Ross and Matthew Rymer were selected to play on the South squad, as were Trinity Episcopal Day School’s Caleb Cross, Cole Radzewicz and Michael Whitley.
Centrevillle Academy’s Brandon Arnett, Colby Shaw and Mark Curry also made the South squad’s cut, as did Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Tyler Radley.
ACCS head coach David King was selected as head coach of the South squad, and former Trinity coach Josh Loy was selected as an assistant coach. Loy would not confirm or deny he was planning to coach in the game Tuesday.
The game will be played at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Mississippi College’s Robinson-Hale Stadium. The North and South squads include players from all three MAIS classifications — Single-, Double- and Triple-A — instead of dividing the classifications, as has been done in the past.
