NATCHEZ — Hear the musical stylings of world-renowned pianists or get a head start on Christmas shopping this weekend in the Miss-Lou.
A variety of events are scheduled this weekend, but be sure to bring a coat — and possibly an umbrella — as cold and wet weather is forecast throughout the weekend.
Health care forum
A public forum outlining the details of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Natchez City Auditorium at 100 Jefferson St.
Speakers for the health care forum will include U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Regional Director Pamela Roshell, Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney, Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon, Stacey Carter of Humana Mississippi, Roy Mitchell of Cover Mississippi and Thomas Thompson of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
Discussion is expected to include coverage for young adults, stopping insurance companies from dropping coverage, denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions, annual, lifetime dollar limits and more.
Panelists will be available after 7 p.m. to answer questions about health care, including how to sign up on the health care exchange and choosing the right coverage for a business.
Residents can also sign up for insurance in the Humana Mobile Education and Enrollment mobile center beginning at 3 p.m.
