Bald Eagle soars at balloon race

Mother Nature was somewhat cruel last Friday and Saturday as intermittent rain and wind prevented any scheduled balloon flights and the Friday night balloon glow.
However Mother Nature did treat anyone on the bluff Friday and Saturday mornings to the very rare sight (at least in downtown Natchez) of a beautiful Bald Eagle cruising along the edge of the bluff near Rosalie.
Then on Saturday afternoon around 5 p.m., above a disappointed crowd lamenting the canceled balloon flight, another Bald Eagle circled above the festival at Rosalie for more than five minutes.
Certainly not as spectacular as 60 balloons, but a real treat nonetheless.
