NATCHEZ — Police are searching for two men who reportedly robbed the Sprint Mart on Seargent S. Prentiss Drive late Saturday night.
A clerk at the store said that two masked men armed with handguns entered the store near midnight and ordered the clerk to give them the money in the cash register, according to a police report.
One of the suspects reportedly jumped over the counter, while the other followed the clerk around the counter. The men reportedly told the clerk to open the store safe. When the clerk told the men she could not open the safe, they attempted to open it themselves.
The men reportedly told the clerk to go into the store’s office, lie down and lock the door, but pushed her down while she walked into the office.
The robbers reportedly fled the scene with $192, according to the police report.
Natchez Police Lt. Craig Godbold said the robbery is under investigation.
