NATCHEZ — Tammy Cranford recently became certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc.
Cranford is a registered nurse and infection preventionist/employee health nurse at Natchez Regional Medical Center.
Certification has, as its primary purpose, the increased protection of the public by providing an objective measurement of standardized current knowledge recognized and respected within and outside the field of infection prevention and control.
“Tammy’s certification represents her commitment to professional growth in the field of infection prevention/control by keeping her knowledge and skills current to better our hospital’s infection control function and its success,” said Barbara Willis, chief nursing officer at Natchez Regional Medical Center.
Becky Guedon, director of quality resources and utilization management at the hospital, said the staff was proud of Cranford’s accomplishment.
“Her certification will only enhance our efforts to maintain high standards in our fight against hospital acquired infections and keep Natchez Regional aligned with the latest and most current methods to prevent patient harm,” she said.
