In the South, there are four seasons — winter, spring, summer and football.

And football season means tailgating. Tailgating in the South is about good food, passionate fans and long-standing traditions.

On Saturday, put on your favorite team gear and come cheer on your team at Trinity’s Second Annual Touchdown Drawdown. Enjoy your favorite tailgating foods prepared by Trinity’s great cooks and ice-cold beverages while taking a chance at winning $1,000.

This tailgating event will take place at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Rodriguez, 400 S. Commerce St. in Natchez, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Your purchase of a $100 drawdown ticket admits two people to this fun-filled event. Can’t make it to the event? No problem! You need not be present to win.

What is a drawdown? A drawdown is the opposite of a raffle. Tickets will be continuously drawn throughout the night until there are only four tickets remaining.

If the final four tickets have all agreed to split, as indicated by marking their ticket, then the cash prize will be split between the final four. If not, then tickets will continue to be drawn down until all tickets agree to split or only a single winning ticket remains.

You do not have to be present to win. For an additional $25, insurance may be purchased. Insurance is for a second chance during the first 100 tickets drawn.

Tickets may be purchased by calling Trinity Episcopal at 601-442-5424 or sending an e-mail to brookecrum1@gmail.com. They are also available at www.trinitysaints.org — click on the Drawdown banner at the top.

Just like any good football team, the Trinity family is part of a cohesive unit. We are not a group of individuals working toward a common goal, rather a team working together for a common goal: Preparing students to excel in college and in life.

The Miss-Lou is a small community, and everyone should support all schools and their missions. Our children are a testament to that fact. They don’t seem to see territories and lines not to be crossed.

Come out this Saturday and help us make TE’s Touchdown Drawdown an annual tailgating tradition that is something we can look forward to for many years to come.

Who knows? You might walk away a winner of $1,000! Please join us in a night of good food and fun and come out and show your support for the Trinity Episcopal School family.
