Ballard named CEO of Kentucky hospital

FULTON, Ky. — John Ballard has been named chief executive officer of Parkway Regional Hospital effective Sept. 3.
Ballard, a Trinity Episcopal Day School graduate, is the son of Natchez resident Sallie Ballard.
Ballard brings diverse experience in hospital administration to this role, previously serving as assistant chief executive officer of Moberly Regional Medical Center, a 101-bed facility in Missouri.
“I look forward to working with the dedicated professionals at Parkway Regional Hospital to continue their mission to serve the Fulton community,” Ballard said. “Because of their work, patients have come to expect quality, personalized care when they seek care here.”
During his tenure, the hospital achieved its highest ever employee satisfaction scores, successfully implemented electronic medical records and enhanced quality measures including the implementation of a bar code medication program that is designed to reduce medical errors. Previously, Ballard was director of the Roswell Clinic Corporation, part of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.
“John offers a deep level of health care management expertise to lead our hospital,” said Robert Burrow, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Parkway Regional Hospital. “We look forward to working with him in his role as CEO.”
Ballard has a doctorate in public health and Epidemiology from Walden University. He received an masters in business administration from Alcorn State University and bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
He is married to Melinda, and they have four children: Jeremy, 25, Matthew, 24, Phillip, 20 and Saxon, 16.
