NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was in stable condition at Natchez Regional Medical Center Sunday after being shot after an argument late Saturday.
The incident occurred just before midnight on Monmouth Street when Guyanthony Allen allegedly shot Justin Minor just above his stomach, according to police reports.
Natchez Police Department investigator Jerry Ford said police haven’t charged Allen, but are holding him for further questioning.
“We don’t know the exact cause, but are still following up on some leads and trying to determine what happened,” Ford said. “We believe it was some type of argument that caused the incident.”
Police arrived at Monmouth Street at midnight, where they found Minor with a bullet wound just above his stomach and Allen holding two guns, according to reports.
Allen told police that Minor pulled a gun on him, according to reports. Allen said he grabbed Minor’s gun and pulled his own, firing on Minor, according to reports.
