JACKSON — Natchez Mayor Butch Brown has been named to the Mississippi Municipal League’s Board of Directors for the 2013-2014 year.

The board seeks to provide leadership to municipalities throughout the state. It is a non-profit, private organization of cities and towns. The group lobbies state and federal legislatures, provides education for elected officials and represents municipalities.

The league employs a staff that is based in Jackson.

Brown will attend several meetings of the board in the coming year.
