VIDALIA — Vidalia Police Department officials are investigating a Sunday morning gas station armed robbery in which suspects stole $5,000 before fleeing the scene.
VPD officers and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call of a robbery at Continental gas station on Carter Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. Sunday.
Three male subjects entered the store and allegedly knocked an employee down, took $5,791 from behind the counter and exited the store, according to a CPSO report.
Video from a surveillance camera inside the store showed the subjects were armed and wearing all black clothing with long sleeves, according to the report.
Vidalia Police Chief Arthur Lewis said further details could not be released Monday because the robbery is currently under investigation.
“Our investigators are working on it, but currently there are no suspects,” Lewis said.
