Parents and community members have an opportunity to attend a “One Stop Shop” for all their school related needs.
The Natchez-Adams School District’s “A Day In the District” is Tuesday at the Natchez Convention Center, which is located on Main Street.
The event will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Day in the District is an annual “One Stop Shop” for parents to take care all their school related concerns and needs in one location.
This concept is to provide a convenient and efficient service to parents.
Our “One Stop Shop” will allow the parents to do the following: Register all children grades kindergarten through 12th grade (Bring two proofs of residence — such as a utility bill and drivers license), complete a lunch application (one for each household), obtain information on bus transportation, dress codes, school supplies, parent centers, PTAs, schedules, attendance, extra-curricular activities, staffing, school activities, Common Core, nurses, counselors and more.
The Office of Child Nutrition will also be on site with lunch applications.
If anyone in your household participates in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation (FDPIR), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Women Infant and Children (WIC) they must bring their case number to be provide in the space on the application.
You will only need one application per household.
If you have questions, call the Child Nutrition Department at 601-445-2852.
A reminder, you must fill out an application every school year.
The lunch application will need the last four digit of the social security number of the person filling out the application.
Again, you will need to bring your child’s birth certificate and proof of residency on Tuesday.
Come out and receive information about the schools and what schools your child or children will be attending for the 2013-2014 school year.
If you have any questions, you may contact Federal Programs Director Marilyn Alexander-Turner at 601-445-2828.
