NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman is behind bars after reportedly stabbing two people when a fight broke out Monday at a Charles Court apartment.
Natchez Detective Jerry Ford said Chaudell Green, 21, 62 E. Franklin St., was visiting a friend when Sandra Denise McGowan, 40, and her boyfriend, Gyasi Rhodes, 33, reportedly stopped by the apartment to have drinks.
“(Rhodes) started getting loud and saying boisterous things … and was asked to leave,” Ford said.
Rhodes and McGowan reportedly returned to the apartment approximately 30 minutes later, Ford said.
Green and McGowan allegedly got into a fight, and the apartment resident reportedly attempted to break it up, Ford said. When the man stepped in, Rhodes allegedly knocked the man unconscious.
Green, McGowan and Rhodes all then reportedly got into a fight. Ford said Green allegedly retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed McGowan and Rhodes multiple times in their stomachs, backs, legs and arms.
McGowan and Rhodes were taken to a local hospital for treatment and were later airlifted to a Jackson hospital, where they remained Wednesday afternoon, Ford said.
Green had bite marks on her body, indicating a fight, but did not require medical treatment, Ford said.
