VIDALIA — The Concordia Parish Police Jury voted to open bidding Monday on the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Concordia Parish Health Unit.
The health unit is located on Mickey Gilley Drive in Ferriday and provides basic health services, such as family planning, immunization and sexually transmitted disease testing.
The renovations will change the reception area to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, according to Department of Health and Hospitals Region 6 Medical Director David Holcombe.
“The changes are pretty modest,” Holcombe said. “The two reception areas are currently open. Renovations would enclose the reception areas and make them a more private.”
The Police Jury is scheduled to open received bids on Aug. 26.
