JAY SOWERS / THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — Firefighters from the Natchez Fire Department and deputies from the Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for backup at the Elevance Renewable Sciences plant on L.E. Barry Road late Friday evening. Natchez fire officials said the fire had been contained by the time they arrived on scene, yet the crews remained on the scene for a time in case they were needed.
