Wanted man faces new, additional charges in Vidalia case

VIDALIA — Four days after the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested an Arizona man on an Arizona warrant, Vidalia Police added an additional charge to his rap sheet.

Vidalia Police charged Stanley Vernon Schickel, 40, with simple burglary of a residence Monday.

Assistant Police Chief Bruce Wiley said investigators found several pieces of jewelry at 218 Bailey Circle in Ferriday, where Schickel was staying.

The owner of a Magnolia Street house and victim of a house fire reported multiple items, including the jewelry, as stolen and correctly identified them after being questioned by police.

Schickel was being held Monday with no bond on the burglary charge.
