NATCHEZ — Local fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a Proby Road house early Friday morning.

Natchez Fire Chief Oliver Stewart said firefighters responded to the call shortly after 6 a.m.

“It was on the ground when they got there,” he said.

No injuries from the fire were reported.
