B&K promotes Brown, Messer to new roles

NATCHEZ — Britton & Koontz Bank recently announced the promotion of James Brown to loan officer and Michael Messer to bank security officer and information security officer.
A Natchez native and Cathedral School alumnus, Brown graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and most recently from Northwestern State University with a bachelor’s in business administration. He began his banking career at B&K as a teller in 2006 and most recently has worked in the accounting area at B&K as a financial analyst. Brown is a member of the 2013 Class of Leadership Natchez, Natchez Young Professionals and the Santa Claus Committee. He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of one son, James.
Messer is a Natchez native and graduated from Adams County Christian School. He achieved an associate of applied science degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in local area computer networking. He joined B&K in 2001 in the deposit operations department and then assumed the role of core operating system support specialist. He will continue in that role along with his security and information security officer positions.
He and his wife, Kristle, are the parents of a daughter, Rebekah, and they serve as youth and children’s pastors at Natchez Church of God.
