NATCHEZ — An employee at Kelly’s Kids made a gruesome discovery Thursday, finding the carcass of a dog that had been cut in half on the property.

Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said the employee reported finding the hindquarters of a black dog on the company’s property. The dog had apparently been cut in half, Ford said, and the rear half was tossed over the property’s fence.

“We don’t have a whole lot to go on,” Ford said. “We don’t know if they were playing a prank or what, but we can’t link it to anybody, and there was no video surveillance.”
