CANNONSBURG — Services for Roosevelt “Mike” White, 93, of Church Hill, who died Friday, April 19, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. White was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Jefferson County, the son of Sanford “Sam” White and Virginia Swanson White. He was self-employed as a barber and a farmer.
Mr. White was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mattie Mae Fleming White; one son, Eddie Coleman; and one daughter-in-law, Levater Hayes White.
Survivors include one son, Samuel White Sr. of Fayette; a number of grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Lewis and wife, Novonia, of Baton Rouge; one sister, Josephine White of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.
