NATCHEZ — Services for Donald “Duck” Smith, 70, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Sonny Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Jackson, will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Union Church, the son of Walter Smith and Myrtle Bobo Smith. He was a retired automobile mechanic.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Bradley.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Ballard Smith; one son, Don Smith Jr. of Natchez; two daughters, DeShawn Skinner of Fort Myers, Fla., and Judy Laseone of Pineville; two stepsons, Matthew Kowaluk of Madison and Paul Hudson of Bradenton, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Lane and Colby Smith, Preston Laseone, Rhett and Kendall Skinner.
