FERRIDAY — Services for Linnie Ruth Evans, 73, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Howington and the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at Shady Acres Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Evans was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Wallace Ridge, La., the daughter of Roy Carson Harris and Clara Bell Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rickie Lane Evans; one brother, James Harris; three sisters, Marie Smith, Pearl Gardner and Alma Coleman; and one grandson, Matthew Louis Evans.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Louis Hilbert Evans; three sons, L.C. Evans of Natchez, Darrell Evans and Mark Evans and wife, Kim, all of Ferriday; one daughter, Vickie Evans of Ferriday; two sisters, Edna Carter of Pollock, La., and Janette Smith of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jay Evans, Del Evans, Johnny Evans, Benny Evans, Tony Evans and Tommy Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Evans and Carmon Evans.
