NATCHEZ — Services for Morris Walters Jr., 69, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at noon Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright officiating.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Natchez and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Walters was born July 9, 1943, in Natchez, the son of Morris Walters Sr. and Arie Bonds Walters. He was a member of L.R. Paige Masonic Lodge No. 20, Scottish and York Rite Masonry, Victory Chapter No. 4 Order of Easter Star and Natchez Recreation Council.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandmother, Annie B. Ellis; and one brother, Melvin Walters.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Bertha L. Walters; four children, Morris Walter III and wife, Stacy, of Fort Worth, Texas, Tammy D. Walters of Dallas, Marvine Walters and companion, Eleanor Worthy, of Memphis, Tenn., and Tywanaka Walters and companion, Herman Washington, of Natchez; his father; three siblings, Jewel Aldridge and husband, Hercules, Annie Walters and Kathleen Stewart and husband, Horace; nine grandchildren, Arshad Washington, Chad Fleming, Charles Fleming, Ashley Walters, Nicklas Walters, Masonn Walters, Harmonie Washington, Keilon Washington and Kyrin Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
