NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Dustin Myles Lanehart, 37, of Baton Rouge, who died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Immediately following the services, there will be a time to gather with family and friends at the home of Lamar and Delores Spinks, 204 Traceside Drive.
Dustin was born April 4, 1975, in Natchez, the son of Otis A. Lanehart III and Rhonda Isbell Lanehart. He was a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and Louisiana State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in construction management. He worked on the family farm during the summer when he was growing up.
Dustin was employed by Lane Construction and Shaw Group of Baton Rouge.
He loved music and performing live for large crowds. In the mid to late 1990s, he was a resident DJ in Baton Rouge, recorded and produced two full length CDs and was flown to Los Angeles to headline two shows in October 1998.
Dustin enjoyed life and will be missed by his close friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandfather, Kenneth L. Isbell; paternal grandfather, Otis A. Lanehart Jr.; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Lanehart; and grandmother, Christine Smith.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Rhonda Smith; one sister, Chelsea Smith; maternal grandparents, Wink and Jo Ann Collins; paternal grandfather, J.C. Smith; aunts and uncles, Kenny and Lori Isbell, Keith and Pam Isbell, Mark and Ashley White, Delores and Lamar Spinks, Al and Robbie Lanehart, George and Andree Chalupnik, Joe and Beth Benoit and Pat and Patricia Buchanan.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
