NATCHEZ — Services for Harvey Dwight Boyte Sr., 81, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital in the loving arms of his wife and daughter, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Boyte was born April 21, 1931, in Lincoln County, the son of William Archie Boyte and Carrie Presilla Ward Boyte. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company.

Mr. Boyte was very loved by all his family and friends. He loved spending time in his yard and fishing. He will be greatly missed by many.

Mr. Boyte was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Johnny Eugene Boyte; and one daughter, Kathy Ann Boyte.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Ruth Boyte; three sons, Harvey D. Boyte Jr., Darrell L. Boyte and wife, Anona, of Woodlawn, Ark., and Randy Smith and wife, Helen, of Natchez; two daughters, Susan Watkins and husband, David, of Jackson and Linda Boyte of Monticello; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Watkins Jr., Jason Watkins, Jonathan Boyte, Tanner Boyte, Andrew Smith and Randall Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Ferguson, Paul Arnold, James Elveston and John Hicks.
