FERRIDAY — Services for Clinton Bartell Schneider, 77, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Raymond Beard officiating.

Burial will follow at Oswalt Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Schneider was born May 31, 1935, in Jonesville, the son of James Barton Schneider Sr. and Annie Maude Wheeler Schneider. He was a member of Lismore Baptist Church.

Mr. Schneider retired from the Vidalia Police Department as assistant chief after 38 years of service.

Mr. Schneider proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Jean Beard Schneider; his wife, Elizabeth Faye Smith Schneider; his parents; three sisters, Cynthia Carter, Paige White and Laura Farrell; one daughter, Karen Roberts; and one brother, James “J.B.” Barton Schneider Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Clinton Bart Schneider Jr. of Vidalia, Bob White and wife, Cindy, of Delco, N.C., and Mike White and wife, DeDe, of Natchez; two daughters, Patty White and Rami Johnson and husband, Dexter, all of Vidalia; one brother, Roy Schneider and wife, Noonie, of Pineville, La.; one sister, Nell Morris of Lismore, La.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Vincent White, Trey White, Jesse White, Dustin Lemoine, Jeff Ames and Dexter Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Beard and Undray Moore.
