CROSBY — Services for Samuel “Sammy” Adams, 87, of Crosby, who died Friday, March 22, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crosby Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Neyland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Roxie Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Adams was born July 12, 1925, in Roxie, the son of the Rev. Edgar Fleming and Carrie Shaw Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willie Williams and James David Adams; and one sister, Lula Vanderson.
Survivors include four sons, Samuel Lee of Hammond, La., Rickey D. Reed and wife, Henrietta, Jimmy Smith and wife, Erma, all of Port Gibson, and McGraw Miller and wife, Carle, of Crosby; two daughters, Elaine Miller of Crosby and Muriel J. Hall of Roxie; one brother-in-law, Ledon Dotson of Port Gibson; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Dotson of Port Gibson and Irene Brown of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of other special sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
