FERRIDAY — Services for Jimmie Ruth Speed Smith, 78, of Ferriday who died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in Lacombe, La., will be at noon today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum near Ferriday under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born April 3, 1934, in Highland, La., the daughter of Ross B. and Carrie Lee Speed. She was a homemaker and an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Ferriday.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smith; her parents; and one sister, Carolyn Hinson.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Smith and wife, Shaune, of Lacombe and Stan Smith Jr. of Natchez; three grandsons, Joshua Smith, Ross Smith and Brandon Thompson, all of Natchez; and special cousins, Ralph and Delores Valentine and Jim Valentine.

Pallbearers will be Pat Hinson, Brian Hinson, Denny Hinson, Paul Wayne Poole, Brett Hinson and Cole Rutherford.
