NATCHEZ — Services for Elsie Ridley White, 80, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilderness Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. White was born June 27, 1933, in Adams County, the daughter of Leroy Ridley and Estella Williams Ridley. She was a beautician and a private duty nurse for a number of years. She was affiliated with St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church for a number of years and then joined Wilderness Baptist Church.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert White Sr.; one son, LaVaughn White; three sisters, Annie Mae Winston, Ophelia Paxton and Marie Fitzgerald; and two brothers, Leroy “June” Ridley and Robert Ridley.
Survivors include one son, Wilbert White Jr. of York Town, Va.; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Smith of Natchez; one brother, Terry Ridley of Gautier; and a number of other relatives and friends.
