ROXIE — Services for Mazie “Madea” D. Brooks, 83, of Roxie, who died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Roxie First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Brooks was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Roxie, the daughter of Joseph and Myrtis Lindsey Dyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Andrew M. Dixon Jr.; and one granddaughter, Angie M. Riggins.

Survivors include five daughters, Mary D. Webb, Marion A. Dixon, Alretha D. Mason, Maria D. Riggins and Myrtis B. Craig; three sons, Marshall L. Dixon Sr., Otis A. Dyer Sr. and Jeffrey Dyer Sr.; two special cousins, Felix Jones and Burl L. Jones; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
