NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Suzanne Alford Zuccaro, 60, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.
Suzanne was born Nov. 2, 1952, in Jackson, the daughter of Paul Brittain Alford Jr. and Virginia Wilkes Alford.
She grew up in Morton and received a master of education in guidance and counseling from the University of Mississippi in Oxford.
Suzanne was proud to be an Ole Miss Rebel and most everything she owned was red or blue. She was employed with the U.S. Post Office in Natchez for 30 years, of which, the last 20 she spent at the Tracetown post office.
She was a member of St. Mary Basilica. Her passions were her family, especially her granddaughter, Abigail; her close friends; and her dedicated love of all animals, especially hummingbirds. She would spend many hours feeding the animals and birds in her backyard.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Zuccaro; one son, Christopher Zuccaro and wife, Jamie, of Bowling Green, Ohio; one granddaughter, Abigail Zuccaro of Bowling Green; one brother, Paul Brittain Alford III and wife, Rebecca, of Hartsville, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Joe Ernst for his friendship for the past 20 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
