VIDALIA — Services for Raymond “Pete” Millard Williams Jr., 74, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Promise Rehab Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.
Mr. Williams was born Nov. 30, 1938, in Dallas, the son of Raymond M. Williams Sr. and Elizabeth Waddell Williams. He retired from Louisiana Gas Company after 17 years of service and was also retired from the American Red Cross, North Platte, Neb., after 24 years of service.
Mr. Williams was a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and completed York and Scottish Rites. Being an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing the most.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Glenn S. Waddell; one son-in-law, Terry Lindsey; and one brother, John F. Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Champlin Vinson Williams; one daughter, Angel Lindsey; two stepsons, Todd Vinson and wife, Kristi, and Mark Vinson; two grandchildren, Rachel and Mac Lindsey; four step-grandchildren, Carter, Conner and Grant Vinson and Finley Grace Vinson; and special friends, Carmon and Pat Cameron.
