MONTEREY — Services for James R. “Jim” Dalrymple, 79, of Monterey, who died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Billy Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Dalrymple Family Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Dalrymple was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Superior, Neb., the son of Percy and Ethel Dalrymple. He was a retired grocery store manager and a member and elder of Monterey Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gloria Albert.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Dalrymple; four sons, John Dalrymple and wife, Shelia, Gene Dalrymple and wife, Kathy, James A. Dalrymple and wife, Bobbie, and Eric Ellard and wife, Jenny; three daughters, Karen Stewart and husband, Mike, Teresa Lipsey and husband, Jan, and Jane Tucker and husband, Robert; three sisters, Marilyn Gies, Lucille Johnson and Helen Woods and husband, Gary; four brothers, Paul Dalrymple and wife, Donna, Jerry Dalrymple and wife, Wyoma, and Tim Dalrymple and wife, Susie, and David Dalrymple and wife, Judy; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Dalrymple, Jacob Dalrymple, Matt Dalrymple, Joshua Lipsey, Jim Dalrymple and Eric Dryg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Ellard, Wyatt Brown, Brad Gill, Joshua Goss and Ian Dryg.
