VIDALIA — Services for Travis McCoy Jr., 71, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center in Vidalia with the Rev. Charles G. Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. McCoy was born Feb. 27, 1941, in Vidalia, the son of Travis and Bertha Middleton McCoy. He was a retired deputy with the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. McCoy served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War.
He attended Southern University and was a graduate of Louisiana State University Training Academy.
Survivors include one son, Triand “Tron” McCoy Sr. and wife, Dr. Regina Harris-McCoy; four sisters, Ethel Brown, Willie Mae McCoy and Shirley Rice, all of Vidalia, and Ruby Dominique of New Orleans; two grandsons, Triand “Tri” McCoy Jr. and Tristian Cade “Tris” McCoy, both of Vidalia; and a number of other relatives and friends.
