The Concordia Parish Library will present an upcoming concert event, “Love is in the Air,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Concordia Bank in Vidalia. The concerts at Concordia Bank in Vidalia are always such a delight. This program will feature two great artists, vocal talents of G.G. Shinn and Lisa Spann accompanied by popular Louisiana pianist Rod Payne. They will be performing the best of popular music with titles like “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Save the Last Dance for Me,” and “Unchained Melody.” This event is free and open to the public!
G. G. Shinn has been a professional singer for more than 50 years. He has performed with such groups as the Flat Tops, the Boogie Kings and Chase. He is a sensational vocalist and a true musician in the most genuine sense of the word. He was influenced by the talents of Dean Martin, Mel Torme and Otis Redding.
Lisa Spann has a unique and powerful voice that stands out in a crowd. She released the CD “It’s About Time” in 2011. Lisa is proud to be a native of Louisiana artists. She had the opportunity to travel our country and beyond as a Navy brat, but she has deep roots in Louisiana.
Rod Payne is without question, this area’s most visible musician. His command of many different styles of music has kept him busy at the piano and keyboard for more than 30 years. In addition to performing, Rod has written numerous jingles and theme songs.
Don’t miss this special evening with G.G. Shinn and Lisa Spann at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Concordia Bank in Vidalia! We look forward to seeing you there! They will be performing your favorites.
