NATCHEZ — Services for Charlie Joe Campbell, 80, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Campbell and the Rev. Tommy Foster officiating.
Burial will follow at Cox Hill Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time, both at the church.
Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Lucien, the son of Richard and Bertha Campbell. He served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Campbell was retired from oil field work and C&J Auto Sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Monroe Campbell, Fred Campbell, Sedrick Campbell and Lofton Campbell; two sisters, Leathia Huff and Ivy Maxwell; one son, Richard H. Campbell; one son-in-law, Jack Harper; and one great-granddaughter, Skylar Royals.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Palmer and husband, Hewitt, and Alene Harper; four sons, Joe Campbell and wife, Becky, Billy Hall and wife, Barbara, Robbie Campbell and wife, Marietta, and Charlie “Duck” Campbell Jr. and wife, Wanda; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alcy Campbell, Willie Campbell and Archie Campbell; and one sister, Virginia Leonard.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Campbell, Chad Campbell, Scott Ballard, Scott Lee, Julius Riddle, Donnie Johnson and Tommy Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colby Campbell, Chazz Delocer Nelson and George Hayes.
