NATCHEZ — Services for Gary Robert Valentine, 52, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walton Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Gary was born May 3, 1960, in Natchez, the son of Robert Baker Valentine and Anne Louise “Bit” Wilson Valentine. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana Tech and a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of the Santa Claus committee.

Gary was a former employee of the Natchez-Adams School District and was most recently employed by the City of Natchez in the City Clerk’s office.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father of Natchez; one sister, Roanne Valentine Tipton and husband, Mark Alan, of Mandeville, La.; three nephews, Russell Chandler Tipton, Alan Wilson Tipton and Conner Tipton, all of Mandeville; one uncle, Hall W. Wilson Jr. and wife, Sonia, of Lake St. John; and four cousins, Louise O’Ferrall Card and husband, Jimmy, Laurence Charles O’Ferrall Jr., Cynthia Wilson Gould and husband, Spencer, and Amanda Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Colbert, Courtney Aldridge, Ken Janette, David Gardner, Tommy Lamond and Larry O’Ferrall.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
