NATCHEZ — Trinity Episcopal Day School standout Sky Logan is a force on the football field and the baseball diamond.
But when it came time to make his college decision, Logan was focused on the classroom.
The Saints senior chose Hinds Community College Monday over offers from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Alabama State University.
“It is a good academic school,” Logan said. “They stress academics and that’s what comes first.”
Logan will play defensive line for the Eagles, and his versatility made him a great target for Hinds CC. He will play defensive tackle when the Eagles use four down linemen and defensive end in a three-man front.
Logan will also have the opportunity to play baseball at Hinds CC.
Logan has his sights set on making a name for himself during his two years at Hinds and then continuing his career elsewhere, he said.
“My goal is to play in the SEC,” Logan said. “But if I can’t get that, hopefully a (Football Bowl Subdivision) team somewhere.”
Sky is the son of Preston and Carolyn Logan, and the brother of Trinity sophomore Quinton Logan.
