HARRISONBURG, La. — Services for Daryl Keith Rowley Sr., 83, of Harrisonburg, who died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at St. Frances Specialty Hospital in Monroe, La., will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church with the Rev. A.J. Kimball and the Rev. Norris Poole officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Rowley was born March 8, 1929, in Marshall County, Iowa. He was a graduate from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, Mayor of Harrisonburg, President of Council on Aging and served as a member on numerous boards. He was a member of Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent. Mr. Rowley proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a Korea and World War II veteran.
Mr. Rowley was preceded in death by his father, Joe H. Rowley; his mother, Velma Rowley; two brothers, Red Rowley and Laverne Rowley; and two sisters, Marie Rowley and Lavee Wollard.
Survivors include his wife, Nobie C. Rowley of Harrisonburg; five sons, Michael Rowley of Alabama, Patrick Rowley and David Rowley of Texas, Keith Rowley and wife, Amy, of Monroe and George Boothe Jr. and wife, Charlene, of South Carolina; three daughters, Lynn Triplett and husband, Harvey, of North Carolina, Glenda Parker and husband, Ralph, of Texas, and Judy Crum and husband, Kenneth, of Harrisonburg; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Constanza, Larry Brakefield, Drew Willis, Raymond Roberts, Ernie Reeves and Ross Ratcliff.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Alexander and Clint Guinn.
